I’m a high school teacher in the projects that spends her summers as a summer camp counselor. One of the most enjoyable aspects of summer camp is pranks. I love playing pranks and even get a kick out of the “revenge” pranks I suffer. lol. Harmless pranks and naughty harsher ones a part of the fun when you decide to walk on the wild side of pranking mischievous young ladies. As the old saying goes, when you play with glue someone you get stuck.

The first day I was a newbie camp counselor about 28 years ago, I walked down the steps of my cabin and into a bucket of sticky tar. I retrieved my foot, but left my bobbie sock and sneaker behind. At that point, I understood the lay of the land, proceeded to “get revenge,” and never looked back. lol. The 30 something year old soccer mom that set the tar trap found her 1976 Ford station wagon sitting on its rims alone. Little did she know that her relatively new tires were being used as rope swings on an oak tree. lol. Now how I pulled that off is another story in and of itself.One of the activities I covertly participate in is primarily pranks played upon the other young camp counselors. It’s hard to play pranks and not brag to anyone at camp; therefore, I relish the opportunity to tell a story or two via the internet.

As a counselor with a degree of seniority, I have keys to everything and know the camp well.  Good prank is putting itching powder in between sheets. Some girls could not understand why they did not get a good night’s rest. lol. Another prank I’ve performed many times is cutting shoe laces almost completely in half. When attempting to tie, the laces break in half. They had to tie them in knots to lace up. One last prank was to mix up all of the girls clothes between cabins. One t-shirt would be in another’s luggage, etc. A size 6 shoe would be matched with a similar size 7 1/2 shoe in another cabin. This drove the girls nuts. Some may think that I’m crazy (and i probably am crazy lol); however, we all have a great time each summer. Moreover, I suffer my own share of similar pranks each summer. My hot little Mustang GT is usually a good target for the girls. Last summer, the girls completely smeared peanut butter all over her. Even though it did not hurt the paint, I’m still cleaning the goo off. lol. At least they did not put a dead fish under the seat again. The smell takes forever to go away. lolol. I deserve it though.

One time the girls cut the ends out of every pair of my socks.  I pulled them up to my knees!  Then I felt a “squish” in my sneakers.  They were full of Vaseline and sand.

April Fools Pranks – 12 Hilarious Classics Everyone Will Love

Alright, so I am not going to lie that this is one of my most favorite holidays. In fact, over the years, April 1st brings back many fun and hilarious memories. Whether it was when I was a boy and put a whoopee cushion on the seat of my brother, or when I was a teenager and got up in the middle of the night yelling that there was a fire in the house … I always seemed to enjoy how this day provided a wonderful excuse to be completely obnoxious, annoying, and get away with some fun pranks.

Below I have listed, in my opinion, 12 of the best April Fools jokes / pranks. I hope you enjoy:

1) Oops … Sorry About The Dent on Your Car: Leave a note on your victim’s car that says how sorry you are about hitting their car. Then, leave a phony name and your own phone number so you can swap insurance information. Ideally, you want to hide near by to watch their reaction as they search frantically looking for the dent on their car, that isn’t really there!

2) Toilet Mess: Take some plastic wrap and cover the toilet bowl. The next visitor to the bathroom will certainly be in for a fun and messy surprise!

3) Wake Up: While your victim is asleep, set their alarm clock two hours early; or just reset their clock ahead so they wake up unexpectedly and think that they are late.

4) I Only Need One: While the victim is asleep or not looking, grab all of their socks or underwear and take a needle and thread and run a small string through each pair so they are all hooked together.

5) Where Are My Clothes: While your victim is showering, sneak into the bathroom and steal their clothes and towel.

6) Surprise – You Are Wet: Take a rubber band and wrap it around the push button of the spray nozzle of a tap (the ones at the kitchen sink with a hose). Make sure it is pointing to where someone would stand, and watch and laugh as the next person gets drenched.

7) Please Just Let Me Out: At night, remove and switch the door knobs of the bathroom or a bedroom of your victim (it only works with door knobs that lock). Then, when the victim goes in to the bathroom or bedroom, lock them in.

Oh My: This needs to be a group prank and gang-up on one person. Do this with family, friends, or co-workers at the office. Get newspaper, or aluminum foil, or plastic wrap (or all of them) and wrap everything in the victim’s room or office.

9) Having Car Troubles: Sneak into your victim’s car and have fun adjusting everything: turn the radio up full blast, have the wipers on high, move the seats up, put the floor mats on the seats, turn heat or AC on full blast, turn hazards on, etc.

10) TV Madness: Get the extra remote to the TV and when your victim is watching that game or favorite program, hide out or go outside and continually adjust the volume or change the channels. Just don’t laugh as you watch them get frustrated with the remote and the TV.

11) Graffiti on the Car: Get some plastic wrap and cover the hood or doors of your victims car. Then, get some spray paint and have some fun drawing on their car. Make sure you hide out near by so you can watch their reaction.

12) You Just Ate Dog Poo: Make some brownies and shape one or two into what a dog terd would normally look like. Then, hide it in the yard where you know where it is. Then, go out and play or just ‘happen’ to notice the terd, and pick it up. Then, say: ‘what will you give me if I eat this dog terd.’ Then, eat it and collect your prize.

Have Fun!

All the equipment you need is a piece of paper and a pen or marker. Write “Fresh paint” or “WARNING: Fresh Paint” on the paper, and put it in some public place.

One of the absolute best locations for this prank is public benches. However, this is where the prank is getting a little more advanced. Instead of putting the sign in some easily visible place like in the front or on the side of the bench – put it on the backside. That way it’s only visible if the bench is approached from behind.

So let’s say you have done all that. You have made the sign; you put it on a bench in a public place, now what? This is where the personal involvement comes into the picture. Wait for a victim to sit down on the bench, then you approach him or her: “Excuse me Madam/Sir, but I believe you are sitting on a freshly painted bench..!” You can either show them the sign, or take the sign of and show it to them.

Chances are you will get some pretty good reactions! Just remember to keep a straight face, and have the camera on record..;-)

This is what you need:

• Piece of paper
• Pen or marker
• If you are really advanced you could also use some kind of warning sign, like the type janitors often use.

This is what you do:

Write “Fresh paint” or “WARNING: Fresh Paint” on a piece of paper. Put it on some funny location like a stairway, door handle, sink, public transport or other public place. The more creative the location, the funnier the reactions.

The preparations for this prank are best done late in the evening, or at night, basically when everyone is sleeping. That is because this prank is best suited for early mornings when people are of to school or work. People are still a little tired, a little stressed, in a hurry and the discovery of this prank will leave them totally and utterly confused!

This is what you do:

-late at night when everyone is sleeping, you turn all the jackets or any other clothes for that matter inside out.

To really make this prank work you should do all jackets, or all clothes in a specific closet, or drawer. Just think about it, it’s not as funny if just one out of five jackets is turned inside out.

This is what you need:

• Something that will feel creepy when the victim put their shoes on. I.e. rubber bands tied together to form a small ball, (rubber bands can give a nasty feeling when stepped on), or a piece of bubble wrap or soft plastics.

This is what you do:

1. Put the “creepy” stuff in the shoe

2. Wait for it

3. Laugh

This is a harmless funny prank that can be pulled on almost anyone; just make sure you do not use anything that can harm the fabric of the shoes.
